Getting started

#

Freshence audits WordPress posts and pages for freshness problems that hurt trust and rankings — old publish dates, stale year references, broken outbound links, and missing visible "last updated" signals.

  • Each item gets a 0–100 score and letter grade in the editor sidebar.
  • The site dashboard lists every audited post with scores and fix actions.
  • Non-AI fixes work without an API key; AI refresh suggestions are optional (BYOK).

Installation & license

#
  1. Download freshence.zip from your MiroSeo purchase email or account.
  2. In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, install, and activate.
  3. Open Freshence → License and paste the key from your purchase email.
  4. Edit any post or page — Freshence runs on save and shows results in the sidebar.

Freshness checks

#
  • Content age — Flags posts that have not been updated within your threshold.
  • Outdated year references — Finds stale year mentions that make content look unmaintained.
  • Broken outbound links — Samples outbound links and caches results for faster repeat checks.
  • Missing "last updated" signal — Detects when readers and crawlers see no visible freshness cue.

Fixes & bulk actions

#

From the editor sidebar or site dashboard you can:

  • Add a visible "Last updated" notice (no API key required).
  • Remove broken outbound links while keeping the link text.
  • Run Fix Everything on one post or bulk-fix selected posts from the dashboard.
  • Optional: connect OpenAI or Anthropic under Freshence → Settings for AI refresh suggestions.

Reports & exports

#

Export a CSV of every audited post with score, grade, and per-check status. Use your browser Print → Save as PDF for a printable client report.
